While DSW would certainly be overwhelming if
you were looking for, say, brown loafers, if you're looking
for designer shoes on the cheap, this is a great option. Head
to the left two or three rows for (probably last season's, but
still) half price Miu Miu, Marc by Marc Jacobs, etc. I tend to
skip the rest of the store, as it's not really worth it to
save $10 on Chinese Laundry, etc. I
have never gotten anything at DSW. I go in, wander around,
feel defeated, and leave. The prices aren't as rock bottom as
I'd expect, and I always feel like I'd like the shoes if any
of them seemed practical. But nothing ever seems like
anything I'd ever need, and clearly, I'm never wrong about
that. I don't even bother trying there anymore. It's a waste
of my time. Sometimes I get cravings to go to DSW. I
adore shoes, and this is one fab place for them. The only
reason I only give 4 stars is because sometimes I feel like I
go in and they have NOTHING. Or, anything they do have that I
like seems too pricey for them. You can usually find some
pretty sweet deals in the clearance section, I usually head
there first. I actually bought a gym bag at the DSW in Natick
recently, and I love it. I would highly recommend heading to
DSW if you need specific shoes for an event/special
occasion/Halloween because you'll definitely be able to find
it and for probably cheaper than other locations. Dr Marten's
Shoes, Ecco shoes are better-made and good-quality. I
have bought 5 good pair of shoes there, and they are the most
comfortable shoes in the planet. It is like wearing a pillow
on your foot. I wear a black track boots, that i had since
1999, the soles is still good as new. If you want a good pair
of shoes, come to ECCO. It may be pricey, but it will be the
last pair of shoes ever. |
